It was only two and a half months ago that Nordest Cycles sprouted out of the same minds of Canary Islands-based Jerónimo Cycles with an aggressive all-mountain trail riding steel hardtail (and promises of more bikes to come this fall.) And now they are back turning their years of titanium bike building experience into the new Bardino Ti hardtail. They’d already been building mostly reasonably priced full custom ti bikes under the Jerónimo name in Europe, but Nordest is all about making their designs more attainable, so the Bardino Ti joins its steel brethren coming out of a Taiwanese workshop to keep costs down. Check out the full details on the new ti frame after the jump…

The Nordest Bardino Ti is a natural evolution for the company having been designing & building titanium bikes for over a decade. In fact, they got their custom start contract-building ti bikes in Asia before bringing the custom Jerónimo work back to the EU.

So the new Nordest joins its steel sister, carrying over the exact same long, low & slack enduro geometry. That means a slack 65° tapered headtube for 160mm 27.5″ forks,  plus-sized 27.5+ 3″ or 29×2.5″ tires, a Boost 148 rear end, and a replaceable hanger. It also gets stealth dropper routing, a 73mm threaded bottom bracket, and ISCG05 tabs.

The switch to titanium though allows them to drop a bunch of weight, while maintaining the same precise ride feel of the steel bike. The Bardino Ti trims 30% off the steel hardtail, getting down to just 1859g (4.1lbs) for the M/L frame. It does that with a combination of 3Al-2.5V & 6Al-4V titanium alloys across the frame.

The new Nordest joins the steel bike that just went into full production after some minor cable routing tweaks were sorted out in the last prototyping stages at the end of spring.

This ti frame will get made in one more size than the steel version, bring that up to fours total stock sizes, with frames available in around 10 weeks from now (so somewhere around mid September 2017.)  The ti bike will be available just like the steel Bardino as a frame-only, a frame+fork+dropper combo, and two complete bikes. The frame itself will sell for 1300€ delivered in Europe (putting it at a 750€ premium over the steel bike.)

Keep an eye out as we plan to try to get one of the steel versions in the early fall to give it some thrashing on our home trails.

enduro hardtail. Just stop calling them that. Virtually no one is doing enduro races on a hardtail. When they do they will want their own category I bet because they know they are at a disadvantage.

This looks like just the bike I’ve been looking for. I appreciate the multiple build options. Wonder if there will be any way to import in into North America…
