Formula is developing a new four piston brake, and a version of this prototype is in testing with former current world champ Loic Bruni of the Specialized Gravity Team. The Master cylinder is a standard Cura lever, but the caliper is a new four-piston model. Once the caliper is done, they’ll work on a new lever to go with it, and then a new rotor that will probably spread across the whole line. So, long term project, but they were excited to tease it here on Bikerumor.

It’ll get their patented quick disconnect system, which makes installations easy and makes them a friendly option for travel bikes.

Formula CTS fork compression tuning inserts for XC and enduro suspension forks

At Sea Otter, Formula introduced their CTS (Compression Tuning System) insert collection that allows you to change the compression damping characteristics to suit your riding style. The system is designed to work in concert with air volume and traditional external controls to let you fine tune the compression settings and ramp throughout the entire stroke, giving you more control over the fork’s performance all the way through the range of travel. Check our coverage here for full technical details.

Now, they’ve added two new CTS valves to round out the collection, making seven in total. The new ones are Medium Special (orange) and E-Bike Specific (light blue). The “Special” circuits are for more aggressive riders that need a little more support at the beginning of the stroke.

The e-bike circuit has a lot of low and mid stroke support, which helps keep the bike’s weight from blowing through the first part of travel, particularly when hitting the brakes hard. This let’s them compensate for it without having to jack up the air pressure and killing overall performance.

Shown above is the recently updated Nero DH fork with its dual positive air chambers, letting you fine tune beginning and ending stroke performance. Coming soon, their Selva 35 enduro fork will get a slight upgrade at the final EWS event in Finale Ligura. It has to do with air volume adjustments, which are currently done with oil volume, but will be much better. They hinted at this at Sea Otter, too, suggesting it’ll use physical volume spacers, but are remaining tight lipped unit the official launch at the end of September.

Congrats to Formula for updating a product that never existed before! The Nero is their first DH fork, so it’s not an update/revamp or whatsoever.

You obviously have reading problems.
The update is for the single crown fork (doubt you know what it means).

Wait, people still buy Formula brakes?
