Ask and you shall receive, right? That’s exactly what happened with the latest stem from PAUL Component Engineering – as long as you were asking for a 35mm stem. That’s 35mm in length, not clamp diameter in case you’re wondering.

PAUL Component Engineering builds a shorter 35mm Boxcar stem

Fans of the PAUL aesthetic and legendary made-in-the-USA quality now have a shorter option when it comes to their Boxcar stem. Developed after repeated requests from mountain bikers for a shorter version of their popular stem, the 35mm option is precision machined from 2024 aluminum and clamps onto the bars with stainless T25 Torx bolts.

Out of curiosity, what is the benefit of running Torx vs Allen head for the bar and steerer clamps?

I like Torx heads as, imo, they are stronger. However, I am unsure how they encourage torque wrench use anymore more than Allen head tools (I know…I shooting the messenger…).

Not a fan of Torx but T-25 is a much better option than T-27 which is so close to t-25 that its very easy to use the wrong tool on the bolt head and end up stripping it. Agreed on the torque wrench thing don’t see how the two are really correlated.

Gonna have to disagree with you there. The Deity is a lot better looking than the Paul.

This is gorgeous! I’d buy in a 120mm right now if they’d make it in that size
