It’s not like Peter Sagan needs any help standing out in the peloton, but now there’s another flashy reason to take notice. Coinciding with the start of the Tour de France, 100% launched a limited edition Peter Sagan collection with style befitting the World Champion.

Starting with the current S2, Speedcraft, and Speedtrap models, the Peter Sagan Collection gets a custom iridescent finish which is said to be unique to every pair. The finish is made to match the red/gold mirror of the HiPERLENS, and every pair is adorned with a simple Peter Sagan logo on top.

Shipped in custom packaging with a special red hard case and soft bag, a clear lens and replacement nose pads are included as well. Pricing is set at $220 for the Speedcraft and S2, and $230 for the Speedtrap shown above.

Of course, once Peter landed in the Green Jersey, that was cause for yet another, even more limited edition. These Green Jersey Special Edition Speedtraps sadly will not be for sale.

Finally, it looks like there’s yet another 100% x Sagan design in the works. Called the Glendale, this clean pair of shades looks to blend the signature 100% full coverage lens with Sagan inspired style with more muted colors. We like.

Hmmm. That’s an awfully steep price to wear them ironically…

Those Glendales are pretty nice – super clean and simple. Look like perfect winter shades for me. I think Oakley barely won the battle of “Wraparound with a center bump” with their flight jackets, but 100% is going to really give them competition with this level presentation and price. Are both brands owned by Luxotica (sp?)?

They are not on the list of Luxottica’s own brands or ‘commerical partners’, of course that doesn’t Lux doesn’t own them indirectly, they’ve been trying to downplay their stranglehold on consumer optics lately. The Glendales do look nice, in fact they look just like Oakle’s Wind Jacket 2, which is also a very comfy set of shades, if too huge to use for casual wear.
