Crank Brothers has a few new goodies out for ’09, including colors and FR and DH variations of their Cobalt wheelset.  Shown above is the new Champagne color of the Cobalt XC wheelset.  These puppies weigh in at 688g front / 852g rear (1540g set), and they’re now offered with a 15mm QR adapter to run with the new 15mm thru-axle forks. MSRP is $1,000 and $40 for the 15mm conversion.

They’re also showing a new Eggbeater model, a new collapsible seatpost with extended travel and some other goodies.  Tons of pics and info when you read “more”…

Closeup of the Champagne colored hub and inner spokes (above).  Below is the original blue color.  The wheels are trued at the center of the spoke and are disc only.  Click on the pics to enlarge, which will show you the weights and specs on most of these products.

The “Iodine” wheelset is intended for All Mountain use and comes in two colors (shown below), Burnt Orange and Iron.  870g front / 995g rear.  Front is thru-axle, both are tubeless compatible.

Next up is their Downhill-specific race wheelset, the Opium, and comes in dark red, shown below.  956g front / 1106g rear, thru-axle, tubeless compatible.

And, lastly, is their Freeride wheelset, called and colored Sage, which is also front/rear thru-axle and tubeless compatible. 1011g front/1161g rear, MSRP $1,000.

For the eggbeater line, they’ve introduced a new model called the SC which is one up from their baseline “C”.  The SC offers a chromoly spindle, steel body and stamped carbon-steel wing.  It weighs in at 286g per pair, saving about 8g off their baseline model and costs $110 (versus $90 for the “C”)

Here’s the rest of the pedals, for your viewing pleasure…scroll down to see the other new stuff.

New for ’09 is a 4″ version of their Joplin collapsible seatpost (below, left), both with post-mounted lever and remote lever.  It also has a new seat mounting clamp.

And now, I’m getting kicked out of the media room, so more stuff will get posted later, but here’s a bunch more pics of everything CB was showing…

New seat clamps (above) and QR skewers (below) use CB’s split clamp design to give you superior tightening power and ease of use.

Above is their new oversized headsets and a tapered model for 1.5″ to 1.125″ forks.
