Tom Boonen’s 2009 Specialized Roubaix, which he rode to win the ’08 Paris-Roubaix road race earlier this year, was on display at the Specialized booth.  We’ve got pics of the rest of their 2009 road bike range when you click “more”, including some video…

Boonen’s personal logo adorns his top tube, along with some World Cup / UCI color stripes. The video below is here on the second page because, well, the audio sucks.  In fact, it doesn’t even kick in until about half way through the Roubaix overview…but you can get a good look at the bike (and the 2009 Tarmac) if you don’t mind messy audio:

Here’s the 2009 Roubaix in standard trim available at your bike shop.  The thin seatstays have “Zertz” inserts to help dampen vibration and soak up the little bumps to make this bike race fast while being all-day comfortable.  The Zertz dampeners are also placed in the fork.  The bike uses a tapered head tube and a pretty sizable bottom bracket area to increase stiffness where it counts.

Nice graphics, and you can see how oversized the BB area is from this angle.  You can’t tell from these pics, but the seat tube actually flares out slightly on the non-drive side to give it a wider attachment point on the BB shell to increase lateral stiffness without intruding into the crank area.  The chainstays are also beefier than 2008, and all this extra stiffness and frame tweaking has resulted in a frameset that’s considerably stiffer but about 40g lighter than last year’s.

The Specialized Tarmac is revised for 2009 and shows off their Saxo Bank color scheme, complete with matching S-Works shoes.  Whereas the Roubaix is a built for comfort and stability while also being a qualified race bike, the Tarmac is all race.  I’ve ridden one of these and they’re a bit twitchy, but hyper reactive and fast…made for racing, not necessarily for the recreational or long distance rider.

Another color option for the 2009 Tarmac is this mustard-gold (looks better in person).

Lastly, here’s a shot of their 2009 S-works TriCross cyclocross bike, using the same Zertz inserts in the seat stays and a beefier fork with dampers near the top.
