Veloforma had a lot of bikes stuffed into their 10′ x 10′ booth, and their 2009 de Oro carbon fiber bike is being shown here by Laura, one of their pro riders.  Veloforma is based in Oregon, but their road bikes are made in Italy.  According to President Mark Duff, they’re one of the only US brands to have their carbon bikes made in Italy (their ‘cross bike is made in the USA).  They’re also one of the only companies to offer full custom carbon monocoque frames.  Just send in your measurements and in 60 days you’ll have a full carbon bike made to spec.

Frame weight is about 1050g and will set you back $5,800 for frame and fork.  Check “more” for additional pics, bikes and details…

The de Oro’s chainstays are highly shaped, notice the flatter flares starting just behind the big ring.  As part of the frameset, you get a Dedaccaia Black Wave carbon fork.  The frame or complete bike is only available as a full custom option, allowing you to even choose seat and headtube angles.  They’re able to do this by using a proprietary adjustable mold.

The de Oro uses an integrated seatmast to increase frame stiffness and reduce weight.

The Mille R, shown above, is a tube-to-tube frame, meaning the tubes are bonded to carbon lugs at the joints.  This is a common production method among many manufacturers, but what sets this model apart is the use of a “mono-bond” bottom bracket area that’s molded as one piece with the chainstays.  This yields a stiffer area around the drivetrain.

Sabrina shows off their CX1-Solo, a single speed cyclocross bike.  It uses high modulus carbon tubes bonded to aluminum lugs, has Ti dropouts and paired with an Alpha-Q CX20 fork.  It’s available in five sizes with an average weight of 1200g.  Available as a complete bike or frameset, and also in a geared version (1280g).

They also offer a 1350g carbon/kevlar 12K weave mountain bike (frame only) and a carbon-nano tube, sloping top tube race bike called the D’lusso that weighs a paltry 860g.  Check their website for more on those.
