cycling on a tandem bicycle shows improvement in parkinson's disease treatment

During the ride across Iowa on a tandem, Dr. Jay Albert noticed that the Parkinson’s patient he rode with experienced dramatically fewer tremors or effects of the disease.  He launched a research study and found that high-cadence cycling (80 to 90 rpm) on a tandem improved patients’ motor function by a whopping 35%.  Even better, the results lasted for weeks following the treatment.
