If you want to run singlespeed on your full suspension bike you can either buy one of the few frames that are designed to allow this, or look for a chain tensioner. Here Yess has developed a great tensioner designed for full suspension mountain bikes (althoughit it can be used for hardtails as well) which will let do just that. The tensioner mounts onto the derailleur hanger and locks in place with a couple of screws, meaning it will work for different axel sizes and will allow easy removal of the wheel. The ETR/D works for all sorts of applications from XC, to slopestyle or downhill. The price is $70 and it is available from the Yess website. A nicely made peice of kit that could be an option for rigging up your full suspension bike to give you minimum maintenance through a muddy winter.
