Peter Weigle’s been building bikes since before mountain biking was a thing (and he built some of the first east coast style MTBs as the sport was born). His booth at Philly Bike Expo ’14 had this beauty of a rando road bike, built up with a lot of old school components. But, this one looks positivtely new compared to the 1950’s Ducheron that sat behind it…

Front and rear derailleurs are from Huret, a brand that made one of the first parallelogram rear derailleurs used on production bikes.

This 1950’s Ducheron was built with parts from Nivex, Le Chat, Mafac, Stronglight, T.A., Ideale,
Luxor, Jos and others.

A two way cable operates the Nivex rear derailleur…

…and the front is simply pushed or pulled in and out via the lever behind the seat tube.

At the other edge of his booth was this custom trailer from Chapman Cycles, which rivaled the bikes for workmanship quality.
