Pink-Cinelli-1Ignazio Lacitignola from San Francisco has sent in his two newest rides, Cinelli Supercorsa Pista bikes in pink and cream, that took him over three years to build. Originally from Milan, Lacitignola ordered them in custom paint direct from Cinelli, and built them with the Italian flair of Campagnolo and Cinelli parts.

Also adding in Brooks Cambium saddles, Paul brake levers and H Plus Son rims, the beautiful bikes show a keen attention to detail. Jump past the break to see pictures of both builds…

The pink Supercorsa is a 54cm and the creme is a 61cm. The owner built them purely as a design exercise for the design firm he owns, with as much Campy Record as he could fit on them.

What part of this is a “design exercise”?

It’s 2007 and Fixed Gear Gallery is alive and well at Bikerumor!

@craigsj
The part where he had to think really hard to match the bar tape to the paint color or the saddle color, and picking Italian parts (who have Italian designers, obviously) and even an Italian saddle instead of the stereotypical leather Brooks on a fixie.

Shouldn’t they actually be something the reader rides to be a reader’s ride? If not lets just call them reader’s possessions.

Yeah what? Welcome to pedalroom!

I appreciate unique rides as much as anyone else; apart from the paint, these are painfully off-the-shelf.

Cinelli made some very nice saddles (I have a Volare SLX on each of two vintage Cannondales); not sure how the Cambium is more appropriate for this design exercise.

And, no Campy pedals? (At least they got the seatpost right!)

Anonymous forgot to read the captions before spouting off his/her mouth:

“Also adding in Brooks Cambium saddles, Paul brake levers and H Plus Son rims”

Design exercise=”I looked at what everyone else had on their fixie and copied that”

@jpryder

A Brooks Cambium is:
1) Not made out of leather
2) Made in Italia

I’m not sure if I should criticize you for not knowing these things, but you certainly spouted your mouth off with a know-it-all attitude without the actual knowledge to back it up.

Mixing rice with pasta, not even once. Risotto is not allowed in my house.

Agreed…where’s the “design exercise”?! These are just off-the-shelf bikes that had a bunch of money thrown at them. Track bikes look ridiculous off the track.

So the guy used this as a “design exercise” to get his company to pay for these his/hers matching commuters? I’m not really sure I get it…

Putting a second head tube badge on the top tube of the 61 was odd.

All I want to see is a closeup of that Campy seat post.
Please.

Frankly a Supercorsa without a Spoiler BB Shell is not a Supercorsa…

these are too pretty for actual riding. what a waste.
show room bikes are a waste of time in my opinion other than the hobby of building it.
same goes for muscle cars…. use it dont hide them in your garage.

Don’t praise someone’s attention to detail who doesn’t notice where their valves are pointed in a photo… The one on the front wheel in the first full picture of the pink bike ruins the whole photo 😉

I am wondering how Cinelli is staying in business – when is the last time they’ve had an innovation?
