Culprit Cycles US ambassador program 2015

  • Culprit Cycles continues its push into the states and is looking for you to help represent them. They’re seeking racers with a flair for the social and an active local and regional presence. You’ll be expected to tell your story online through social media or blogs with images and words, remain active in your local cycling or triathlon clubs and hit at least five races per year. In exchange for helping spread the word, they’re offering a solid deal on a new bike and credit for any new sales leads in your area.
  • Commencal is having a SALE! The sales started on January 7th and ends on the 17th of February.
  • Here’s some big news in the world of bike share programs, which are in many major metropolitan areas of the USA. Alta Bicycle Share is now Motivate, the global bike share leader bringing unparalleled experience in building and operating large, complex bike share systems.   • A fellow mountain biker was involved in a dirt bike accident resulting in his pelvis being broken in three places, multiple surgeries and a lot of bills. Some of his friends have started a crowd funding campaign to help him out. Here is there like to his GoFundME campaign.

  • Interested in some really high altitude stage racing? It probably doesn’t get any more challenging than the Yak Ru in the Himalayan mountains of Nepal from 30 March till 12 April, 2015.   • In 2014 Green Guru used 16 tons (!!!) of old junk like old bicycle tubes, neoprene, climbing rope, vinyl billboard and other materials destined for the landfill. With it they create unique and functional messenger bags, backpacks, wallets and other gear. If you’re in the Salt Lake City area (perhaps for the Outdoor Retailer trade show) then head to their after party on January 22nd at Swarm Design.   • The Santos Tour Down Under starts this weekend in Australia. The Universal Sports Network is presenting LIVE daily television and online coverage January 18 to 24. Following the one day of the tour’s People’s Choice Classic in Adelaide this Sunday at 3 p.m. ET, LIVE coverage of the six-day stage race will begin on Monday, January 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
  • Yesterday marked the start of the first Snow Epic, taking place in the Swiss Alps. Over 117 riders hailing from more than 20 different countries embarked on Stage 1 of the race, consisting of a 30 km lap on icy terrain. VEE Tire Co., Snow Epic’s exclusive tire sponsor, has been on site for days, checking tire pressure, answering questions, and distributing their renowned Fat Tires.
