limited edition Tir na Nog 2015 Ciamillo Micro brakes for Irish Cycles

When we last spoke with Ted Ciamillo, he was revamping his business a bit after pouring a bit too many hours and resources into the Gravitas crankset project. While that project’s still on hold, his brakes and aquatic components have been selling as fast as he can make them…leaving little time for customer service, which has been a sore point for some customers.

Now, he’s turned over U.S. sales and service to Irish Cycles, which will handle all customer service, sales and shipments. To kick things off, they’re offering a preseason sale on the Micro brakes. The deal is $279 per set (regular is $299), and that includes the extremely limited edition Tir na Nog green edition shown above. As of this post, there are just four pairs of them in stock. Or just go with the standard black model…

Ted told us Irish will list for sale only what they have in stock, which should eliminate the long wait times some customers have experienced in the past. And production rates should go up just a bit now that he can better focus on building the brakes.

I installed a set of these for a customer and had to have a set of my own. The wait has been a little longer than I would have liked, but a lot of that is me being impatient. Ted and Kristi have been awesome with dealing with my concerns even though I’ve been a bit of a customer service nightmare.

I think that handing over distribution and sales to a 3rd party is an awesome idea because they can actually make an awesome product rather than dealing with Aholes like me!

@craig, The brakes new out of box are great. A year down the road the action of the arms tends to get sticky and a little finicky. Customer service was a real drag before, enough for me to stop selling theM.

I run the GSL version and par taking time to get set up right …
they work great!!

I also have had great experience with Joe @ Irish.
He actually fixed my first delayed order from Ciamillo ,that’s before this change over.

At this price, I’d say grab a set and try them out…

I’m still waiting over 14 months by now on a pair of gsl micro’s, hopefully it’s worth it. They are a nice piece of handcraft.
Don’t let your customers and other interested people down Ted.

I ordered a set of his cranks and GSL’s for $800 bucks in October of 2013. Nothing ever shipped. I even gave him an out and asked him to just ship me 3 sets of brakes he had in stock. Nothing. $800 bucks and never any word from Ted unless I prompted him…and then he’d promise to send them out “next week”. He is a scam artist. Not a legitimate businessman.
