After a relatively quiet year, Teravail is back at it. Their tires never really went away, but the brand has been working in the background to place more focus on off road tires, while still offering plenty of bomb proof tires that suit the needs for gravel and all road use.

One of the newest additions to the line is also the biggest. Labeled as a 27.5 x 3.0″, the new Coronado steps in as their bruiser of a plus tire, while the Cumberland and Kennebec shown at Frostbike will come in a few smaller options…

Designed as a fast, aggressive plus tire, the Coronado is built with a fast rolling center section with progressively larger side knobs for grip. While the Cumberland and Kennebec were originally labeled as 27.5 x 3.0″, when the Coronado showed up, it was true to a 3.0″ size so the Cumberland and Kennebec got relabeled as a 2.8″. The tubeless ready tires will come in both of Teravail’s casing options including the Light & Supple without protection, and the Durable casing with bead to tread shoulder sidewall protection.

As mentioned, the Cumberland and Kennebec will be offered in 27.5 x 2.8″, they’ll also be available in a new 29 x 2.6″ size which is a first for Teravail. Both tire sizes will be offered in both casings and should be available by mid-July.

On the road/gravel side, quite a bit will be changing  as the Galena will be absorbed into the Cannonball nomenclature, and the Sparwood is redesigned with more tightly spaced side knobs and taller center knobs. Then there’s the Rampart which fills in their need for a 650 x 47mm road plus tire option.

Pricing is pretty straight forward with the mountain/plus tires all retailing for $70 in Light & Supple or $80 for the Durable casings. The road/gravel tires on the other hand will sell for $55/$65 respectively. Across the board, all of the Teravail tires will be available by mid-July, and expect more from the brand in the coming months.
