Mountainsmith has been packing things in cubes for years. Whatever the contents, the goal has always been to help you wrangle your gear to and from your destination. Now, with their newest additions to their Cube/Hauler line like the new Cycle Cube, that should be easier than ever.

Fairly self explanatory,  the Cycle Cube is a compact way to carry a decent amount of cycling gear to your next race, ride, or event. Packed with three main storage compartments, the inside is divided to keep your shoes away from your clothing or helmet, and there are ventilation holes to help things dry out. Accessory pockets are perfect for food, tools, and other small items, plus there’s a padded eyewear pocket to keep your specs safe.

The cube has a capacity of 51 liters and is built from 150d Poly Baby RipStop with a 210d Nylon liner. The Cycle Cube sells for $79.95 and there is a shoulder strap that’s sold separately.

If you need even more storage capabilities, the cycle Cube will fit inside the new Zip Top Hauler which has a 103L capacity. Mostly just a large cube, the bag does have a front accessory pocket and ventilation holes. The Zip Top sells for $59.95.

While the Cycle Cube is the obvious choice for bike related activities, the new Dump Trunk Hauler is another option if you think you’ll need more room. To me, this would probably be a better option for more aggressive mountain biking or fat biking as it has more room (76L) for bulky gear like pads, boots, and winter clothing. It also looks like a good option for other sports like fishing, skiing/snowboarding, etc (especially since the bottom compartment is water resistant with vents cut into the upper partition). Due to the increased size, the Dump Trunk Hauler is $129.95.

If you’d rather keep things simple but want multiple bags to keep things separate, the Basic Cubes are now available in a three pack bundle for $79.95. These three 32L cubes will all fit inside the Zip Top Hauler for a perfect way to organize your gear.

Last but not least, the new Hotbox Hauler is meant to store everything you need for your camp kitchen in one convenient bag. Inside you’ll find room for one of those large two burner camp stoves, fuel bottles, and plenty of space for your mess kit, cookware, and accessories. Again, the 40L bag fits inside the Zip Top Hauler, and sells for $79.95.

Sort of a smaller version of the Cat5gear case I have been thrashing for 3 years. I don’t like shoving my sweaty helmet and muddy shoes into small slots. It needs to be much larger IMO.

I’ll try to find the article or product # but my wife and I bought a Nike bag a little over a year ago for like $17 on sale that looks exactly like the bag souigners have at the finish line of races. Ample wet pockets for shoes and dirty kit. A pocket that fits a helmet perfectly as well as a separate pocket for glasses and and ample dividers/internal pockets it’s also got back pack straps and a ton of central storage and stands up on its own. I know it wasn’t designed for cycling but it’s to this day the best $17 bucks id ever spent and has outperformed any bag from castelli I’ve ever purchased.
