Kogel Bearings has added an oversized pulley wheel set for Shimano’s latest Dura-Ace R9100 and Ultegra R8000 rear derailleurs. Not only do they upsize the lower pulley to 14 teeth and provide ceramic bearings for free spinning performance, but they fit into the stock cages on the derailleurs. Look for those to hit the pages of Kogel.cc soon, and likely come in red, blue, gold and black.

Stages Mutes the Graphics

Like the idea of Stage’s sleek single-sided power meter but didn’t like the giant blue graphic on their carbon GXP-compatible cranks, then you’re in luck. They’ve gone with a muted, minimal gray logo treatment that will fit in with most any aesthetic. Order it up on StagesCycling.com for $629.99.

Hiplok orders the Combo

Hiplock’s Z Lok has added a combination lock version, giving you enough length to run around a wheel and frame for quick, convenient security. Set the three-dial combo to whatever you want, then sip that latte with peace of mind. Retail is $24.99 each.

Handske gets a grip on art

Handske crushed their Kickstarter launch by offering artist series gloves. Silicone printed palms offer grip, and you can submit designs for consideration. Look for more designs in the near future.

Cush Core adds sizes

Cush Core has standard size foam protection for 27.5 mountain bike tires, but coming soon are 27.5+ and gravel tire options. They say the design reinforces the sidewalls, so you can run lower pressure while still having support. They’ve also added three different valve stem lengths to fit more rim depths, and they’re exploring options for e-bikes. The regular 27.5 versions are 260g, and the plus size should be about 290g. Retail for the regular ones are $149 per pair with valves.

Shimano has finally added a road rear derailleur with a clutch, giving gravel riders and cyclocross racers a proper option for 1x setups. It launched recently, and comes in a Di2 version as well. These pics simply offer a few closeups, check out our full story here for all the tech info. Above, a comparison in looks between the clutch model and standard Di2 version.

They’re designed to look right at home on the latest R8000 group, but will work with any of Shimano’s modern drop bar groups.

  1. The problem with any of these after market bearings is the lack of a G-pully which is patent design. The purpose of this is that it allows a certain amount of play in the cogs to meet the cassette. without it the cogs are more restricted and the gears harder to set up properly
