Yet another “why didn’t we think of that!” product just shuffled through the inbox in the form of a fitted, absorbent towel designed specifically to fit your road bike handlebars. Or spin bike, hence the name: SpinTowel. Designed to keep your sweat from getting all over the front of your bike, they have three styles to fit the standard studio spin bikes and regular drop bars, too.

how to protect your bike from sweat when using it for indoor training

They retail for $38 each and are designed to fit indoor spin bikes like the Peloton, Stages and Schwinn models commonly found at studios (and gaining popularity for home use, too). The others slide over the hoods and cover the entire top of the bar, helping you keep your grip and keeping both bike and floor clean. The material is a soft terrycloth with an elastic loop to keep it in place, until it’s time to just throw it in the wash.

Things like this have been around for years. The bars seems a little awkward, but keeping sweat off your headset/bolts on your stem is a good idea. They can get trashed from the salts in sweat and rust up easily.

I would definitely use it in conjunction with my cycleops sweatguard for trainer rides, looks like a much better solution than draping a full towel over the bars

Just 38 smackers? I’ll wait until rapha comes up with a cashmere version of this in a pastel color way for 180 dollars.
