The last edition of artist Thomas Yang’s 100Copies series takes inspirations from the flow of the time trialing cyclist gliding through the wind, and reimagines it as the flow of three cyan, magenta, and yellow inks mixing in and out of each other. Together, Glide Glory Glow overlaps high-intensity fluorescent ink to bring bright color to this rider, transforming to an entirely new palette of colors under UV light…

100Copies #46 – Glide Glory Glow

Yang says this new print is his first every project to take advantage of the three UV-color changing fluorescent Pantone inks. “A tribute to cyclists who constantly push the boundaries of mental and physical strength”, Yang aimed to create a new piece that can bring more brilliant color into your home – night or day.

Glide Glory Glow

“A lone cyclist on a long road.
Gliding like a drop of mercury.
Stepping on it
Like a well-oiled machine.
Like a pumping heart in a warm body.
Trying to outride no one, but speed and time –
Legends of glory that will reveal what one is made of.
They call this, the Race of Truth.

The new color-shifting 84cm x 42cm (33″x16.5″) work is offset printed with 3 ‘high intensity fluorescent Pantone’ inks on archival 220g recycled Maple Bright paper. Just 100 hand-stamped & numbered prints of Glide Glory Glow will be made, and sell for $90 plus international shipping from Singapore.
