The City Handlebar Pack looks like Apidura’s answer to the modern cylinder bar bag – combining their bikepacking bag expertise with the looks & construction of their City Backpack and an updated 3-point mounting & basic rectangular shape of their Racing Handlebar Mini Pack,
The new City Handlebar Pack keeps it simple with a forward-folding flap secured shut by velcro, a mesh organizer pocket inside, and a rear-access flap pocket to stow your wallet, phone, keys, or other small essentials.
Tech details
The standout feature is probably its 3-point attachment with quick-release buckles over padded straps vs. the standard velcro or ladder lock straps.
That should mean it is much quicker to get on and off your bike when needed, while also sitting the bag around a centimeter off your handlebar to cause less interference with other bar-mounted accessories. Take it with you quickly when you lock your bike and run inside a shop to pick up a forgotten dinner ingredient or two.
At 20cm wide and 15-20cm tall depending on how full you stuff it, that’s a smaller frontal area than their similarly shaped Racing Mini Pack, but taller than most small cylindrical bags. At 2L of storage and a weight of 200g, it’s not going to haul a ton of gear, but there’s enough room to probably stuff a jacket, a lock, some spares & a snack inside.
The bag material is fully waterproof, with welded seam construction just like the City Backpack. No zips, just overlapping flaps held shut with velcro to keep the rain out. And Hypalon reinforced straps to keep it long-lasting.
