Dear Readers,

Bikerumor started in July 2008 as a way for me to avoid getting a real job. I thought it would be cool to write about all the latest cycling tech, bikes and components in a fast, fun, easy-to-read way. At the time, there was nothing like it. Using Engadget’s rapid-fire blog format as my inspiration, I launched Bikerumor to present the newest parts quickly and constantly. To say it’s become a bit of a beast is an understatement, and that’s in no small part thanks to all of you, my amazing team of contributors, and the welcoming and enthusiastic response from the cycling industry.

Over the past 10 years, Bikerumor has become the world’s largest cycling tech blog. We cover every brand we can find, from the biggest global companies down to the startups bringing innovation and passion to the roads and trails. Along the way, some of the best writers in the biz found me and have become like family. Zach joined in 2010, bringing years of bike shop and wrenching experience. In 2013, Cory came aboard and established our European base, opening up more access to overseas brands. Saris, Steve, Jayson, Marc, Anna, Michael and more have all added their voices over the years, and we have more fresh faces coming on board soon. And a special thanks to Kristi for moderating the comments all these years! Bikerumor couldn’t have grown to this level nor do what we do without them. I’m stoked and honored to have all of these people on our team.

I say our team because Bikerumor was never meant to be about me. By design, it’s always been a platform to celebrate the best new products. It took a few years for us to find that niche, but now we have a laser-like focus on products and tech, and I believe we do it better than anyone else. We’re flattered that the world’s greatest brands trust us to tell their story, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Before we get back to riding (and writing), I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of you, our readers, for checking in every day. Some of you several times per day. (And usually during work hours…our analytics graphs are quite entertaining!) It’s humbling and an honor to know that millions of cyclists all over the world rely on us for their cycling tech news. Thank you, and we look forward to keeping all of you up to date on the latest bikes and components for many more years to come!

Happy Trails

Tyler Benedict, Bikerumor.com founder

Very cool. I can’t really imagine the effort and guts it takes to head down a road like this (I am far to conservative and timid in life for that), but totally admire anyone willing to do so.

BR is a great resource and something I look to for great cycling info. Congrats on your achievement and keep up the great work 😀

Congratulations! I come to bikerumor because other websites don’t cover the industry as deeply and broadly as you. I’m amazed at the combination!
