The new Winspace T1550 aero road bike is making its debut at Toronto’s Blacksmith Cycle with a custom paint job and a mission to get more kids on bikes.

It’s a collaboration with UNC (United Nation of Cyclists) to benefit the GLE Movement (Grow, Lead, Excel), a not-for-profit org that supports youth, teens, and young adults in Ontario. Combined, the groups aim to increase the diversity and inclusion amongst cyclists in that demographic and help more of them get out to ride.

The bike itself is a mild update from the T1500, getting a full internal routing design that hides the cables from the cockpit all the way to the rear dropout. The frameset comes with your choice of the FSA ACR or Token stealth headset systems, fork, seatpost, spare derailleur hanger, and small parts.

It’s also disc specific, no more rim brake mounts. There are mild layup and manufacturing optimizations to reduce weight slightly, too, but the frame shapes carry over almost identically with mild aerodynamic updates.

The limited edition gets an exclusive topographical graphic and paint scheme. Pre-order for $761 ($1,000CAD) by January 22, with the balance due prior to shipping in April and May. Full MSRP on the frameset is ~$1,765 ($2,339CAD + tax). Then work with Blacksmith or your local shop to complete the build.

That doesn’t really say much though does it? Collaboration, supports, aims – what are the actual concrete things being done here apart from the custom paint job?

If it’s as simple as x% of sales of this bike through Blacksmith goes to UNC then say so, and name up what “x” is. If it’s something else like cheap bikes supplied by Winspace/Blacksmith for UNC to provide to youth then say that.

Hey Dylan,
For clarity, 10% of all proceeds of the project will be donated directly to G.L.E. They provide bikes for youth who would not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of cycling and the community that surrounds the program.
G.L.E. has donated over 500 bikes since their inception and we thought this was a nice opportunity to support them, while also offering a really great value frameset to both UNC and other potential customers.
Any questions, feel free to reach out.

How is the Winspace T1550 different from the T1500, which already has full internal routing design that hides the cables from the cockpit all the way to the rear dropout?

There is a rim brake option on the website.
