Joining the all-new Topstone Carbon Lefty gravel bike is a motorized pedal-assist model called the Topstone NEO. Like the analog model, it’ll be offered with two different wheel sizes, too. Choose from a 700c bike with rigid fork, or a 650B bike with their all-new Lefty Oliver v2 suspension fork for a more playful bike.

Traditional e-Road and e-Gravel bike bikes tend to offer either a lighter weight, lower capacity drive system, or a full powered, larger and heavier system. Cannondale thought they could combine the best of both worlds by giving the bikes a 500wH Bosch Performance CX drive system with up to 79 miles (127km) range.

Just like the original Topstone Carbon, the Topstone Carbon NEO utilizes Cannondale’s Kingpin rear suspension with a LockR thru-axle pivot. That LockR is important since it prevents the individual stays from rotating separately.

With a removable mount, the bike is full fender compatible. Check out our coverage of the new Topstone Carbon Lefty for more details on the frame and fork.

Bosch Performance Line CX-speed drive system provides a 500wH battery hidden inside the downtube. Considering the already large downtube of the analog model, the e-bike version doesn’t look at that different at a glance.

Bosch’s Performance Line CX unit is typically used for eMTBs. It’s their most powerful unit, yet fairly compact and light for its output. Claimed weight for the complete system is 6.3lbs. With up to 340% assistance and 75Nm max torque, it’ll help you get up just about any climb.

The bike is programmed with a 28mph (45km/h) assist limit for the US marketing, and a 20mph (32km/h) limit for international markets.

All of the Topstone NEO models run the same motor and battery set up, but you will find differences in the controls and displays. The Topstone NEO Carbon 1 Lefty and Topstone Neo Carbon 2 both see Bosch’s highest end Kiox color display which is mounted out front, in line with the stem. The controls for the assist modes are contained in a pod mounted to the left of the stem.

The more affordable Topstone NEO Carbon 3 Lefty, and NEO Carbon 4 (not available in U.S.) will use the Bosch Purion display with integrated controls mounted to the left of the stem.

They’ll offer both 1x and 2x drivetrain models with 48/32 x 11-34 for doubles.
