Cervélo fans will be pleased to hear that the R5 road race bike, just overhauled last summer will now be available for a limited time in their pro team wrap paint job. In response to consumer demand you can now pick up a rim brake or disc brake R5 frameset from your local dealer. Oh and you can win one via Strava…

The all-around race road bike which we just spotted on the top of the Team Dimension Data’s cars at the Giro debut in Israel, will be available with a dot-wrap paint job ONLY during the Giro d’Italia from May 4-27, 2018.

Inspired by their race wins in the Classics, this newest R5 claims to provide ample space for 28mm+ tires, while still delivering pro race winning handling & geometry, and the best blend of light, stiff & comfortable they’ve ever made in a road bike. Before the new R5 was officially unveiled at the Giro last spring, it was already spotted racing the spring classics in this previously pro-only dot pattern wrap camouflage.

But fans wanted that paint job, so Cervelo decided to bring it back for a limited run in framesets only during this year’s Giro. Get one now from, only through your local dealer for around $4000.

In addition to offering the unique wrap paint job, Cervelo also are giving a frameset away this May with their Cervélo Crown Challenge on Strava. Starting May 12, you can sign up for the Strava Challenge where you will have 9 days to climb 3300m. Or do it in one ride like the pros hitting the mountains in the Giro.

From the site, it sounds like you have to do the 3300m in one ride to have a chance of winning the frame…?
