Cervelo is recalling True Temper Wolf SL carbon forks and replacing them with 3T Funda Pro and the Easton EC90 SLX.

Full recall details are here, and this recall is being conducted by Cervelo, not True Temper, only for forks that came OEM on Cervelo bikes.  While the forks pass all US and Int’l tests, the problem apparently comes about after the fork has sustained minor impacts from a crash or drop, which can lead to breaking or separation within the steerer tube…meaning your stem could fly off (presumably with you attached) during a ride.

If you have one of these forks, use the form at the bottom of this page to find your nearest Cervelo dealer and take your bike in for a replacement fork.  More pics of the affected forks and details after the break…

The recalled forks have a clear coating over black painted carbon fiber, with the words “Wolf Superlite” and related logo just below the crown on each fork leg, and the words “SL” on each leg above the fork blade dropouts. There is a True Temper CRTMC logo on the inside of both fork legs. The recalled forks could have been included on the following bicycle models: R3, R3 SL, Soloist Carbon, Soloist Carbon SL, and certain P3 Carbon framesets and complete bicycles.

Check Cozy Beehive’s blog for pics of actual breakage on a bike.
