If you haven’t tried one yet, a little piece of plastic in the form of a fender and a few zip ties is remarkably effective for what it is. At this point there are a number of companies turning out fenders that are as simple as they are to attach to your bike. But like anything else in the bike world, there’s run of the mill, and then there’s limited edition. D.Fender came on the scene a few years ago offering fenders for mountain bikes and fat bikes that were 100% made in the U.S. They are continuing that trend to this day, but now they have a new Artist Series that is kicking off with a killer fender designed by Bicycle Crumbs…

When it comes their first collaboration, D.Fender founder Jarrod Bunk says, “I’ve been a big fan of Bicycle Crumbs for a while now and I knew I wanted to work together on a piece of functional art.  Thus the idea was born.  When I saw what he had come up with I was blown away.  This design is so good and really has that Bicycle Crumbs feel I love.”

Available in lime green, silver, red, or orange, each D.Fender V3 will sell for $17.99 and fits the Boost Pike, Boost Fox 34 as well as a number of other standard mountain bike forks. Currently set for a small preorder, there won’t be many of these made so get on it if you want one.

Speaking of fenders, the snap in piece of plastic style has been popular for the back of the bike as well. Really more of a small deterrence from getting a wet butt, like the front fenders there are a number of companies now who market their own light weight spray guards (as well as their schlamm:PE front fenders like the D.Fender above). rie:sel first showed their new Ritze fenders at Eurobike with a fender built right into the packaging on their saddles. Claiming to fit 99% of saddles on the market, the fender clips into place and adds just 19g. Made in Germany of 100% recyclable material, the fenders are available in a number of designs (custom designs also available) for 9,95 €.

rei:sel is also bringing their wild prints to water bottles with the fla:sche. Made of 100% recyclable and biodegradable plastic, the 750ml bottles sell for 9,95 € in 9 different designs (though a few of which won’t be shown here since they’re a bit, uh, distasteful). BPA and phthalate free, the bottles come in at 100g if you’re the type to weigh your bottles…
