Ellsworth brand video teases new suspension, new models

significantly shorter rocker arms?

At a guess.
They will still be as ugly as sin.
They will still have 90’s geometry
They might look a bit like a Trek

Other than hard to achieve stiffness in longer travel modes, what exactly is wrong with their current suspension?
Ellsworth needs marketing (and maybe some geometry tweeks). Market it correctly, and people like gibbon will be saying “bro, sweet bike bro”.

I applaud the guys for commiting to build the carbon bikes in the USA as well. I never had a problem with Ellsworth looks.

Oh and your analogy is bad. A more apt one would be stating that one can’t call a Subaru a Subaru because it has wheels made by Enkei. Or you can’t call a Santa Cruz a Santa Cruz. Afterall, outside the frame, nothing is made by SC. It’s all Rockshox/Fox, Shimano/SRAM, various bearing manufacturers, Maxxis tires, cables, seats…
but that would be silly right?

@gibbon- your view is short sighted, considering new ownership and ‘merican carbon r&d working hand in hand with production. You, along with others may be eating your words down the line.

It would be hard to imagine that BST nano would just be content to continue the same Ellsworth product (design/geo) to just make them out of carbon in the US. Not likely.

@Turbo Jenkins. I buy framesets (company, or sometimes custom) and build a bicycle. So for me, I see the frameset for what it is, not what is “draped” on it. Sooo, still Hard.

They are indeed still ugly as sin
They do have 90’s geometry (374mm bb anyone?)
They do not however resemble a Trek.
I stand corrected….must be my astigmatism.

Hey, everybody. We’re pleased to see a pleasant discussion here so far. Of course, not everyone is going to love the bikes or the video. But for those that can appreciate what we’ve done, We’d like to say thanks for the kind words.

Our acquisition by BST Nano Carbon holds great promise. We’ll be building the new seatstay right here in our facility in San Diego in short order. From there, we’re working on new projects that will go from design and engineering to tooling and manufacture right under one roof. That is the big goal, and it’s going to be a reality. We’re shooting for the 2017 year model to have some complete, made-in-America frameset offerings. And of course, we have to be price competitive. Otherwise, it would really make no sense. We feel like we can do it, and we’re working hard to make it happen.
