Evil’s new lightly salted Wreckoning LS updates the popular carbon 29er enduro bike with yet another series of trail-munching tweaks. A bike that can get you to the top of the mountain, but really built to shred down the other side, Evil calls the Wreckoning LS their “big-wheeled pedal-assisted DH rig”.

There are just a few updates in the LS, like a UDH, top-shelf suspension upgrades & free annual bearing replacements!

But also a bit of killer limited edition looks…

The carbon Evil Wreckoning already got a major performance upgrade back in 2020/21 with its Dave Weagle-designed SuperBoost move, longer 166mm of travel paired to 170mm forks, and adjustable EWS race-proven geometry – a 65.2° headtube in Low mode, or 64.6° in X-Low. So, today’s LS updates are relatively a bit more minor. But not to be overlooked, Evil has made this more subtle Lightly Salted LS update a series of little tweaks that add up to real improvements…

What’s new?

First up, the new bike gets SRAM’s easy-to-source-a-replacement Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) which has the added benefit of future-proofing your new bike for SRAM’s imminent next-gen Eagle SL drivetrain… coming soon.

Next, easier to manage shocks. The new Evil Wreckoning LS captures the trunnion shock spacers in the linkage itself, so no more aligning tiny parts when you swap a shock. Although, that might also be less of an issue, as all of the new LS bikes come spec’d with top-tier RockShox Super Deluxe Coil Ultimate shocks across the board.

Free New Bearings Forever

What’s probably the easiest way to keep the pivots of your full-suspension bike full-suspensioning smoothly every season? Fresh bearings. And So Evil is making it easy. From 2022 on, original owners of the Wreckoning LS can register their bike on Evil’s website, and they’ll get you a free set of replacement bearings for your bike once per season. I like the sound of that.

And the best part about all of this? The new LS bikes come in the same AXS i9 Hydra, X01 i9 Hydra & GX i9 Hydra builds at the same prices as before… starting at $6300.

Oh my gosh as a person who builds bikes I have to mad respect Evil on this one. Consider my situation: I’m making esoteric linkage suspension forks. They need bearings when they eventually wear out. One bearing costs $24. The design requires eight bearings. Oof. Except for when they’re purchased in bulk. Then the bearings cost $5! Or less!! From the perspective of Evil, they surely know this and are doing their customers a solid.

Also since I’ve been staring at links all day, their shock actuator design is friggin gorgeous.

Im so psyched to have a v1 2016 wreckoning. Very fun bike, just want an insurgent for more nimble playfulness, having a hard time whipping dd casing and aluminum rimmed 29 rear lol.
