Fizik’s latest Vento and Tempo Overcurve shoes take a new asymmetric approach to better support your feet, whether for mountain bike or road riding. Like their recent Powerstrap road shoes, the new Vento and Tempo Overcurves pair a premium upper to a mid-level tech outsole for a balance of price & performance that most riders can afford.

What both the Vento Overcurve X3 mountain and Tempo Overcurve R5 road shoes share is the new asymmetric Overcurve upper design. To one degree or another the asymmetric upper was developed to offer a closer, more comfortable fit from the rear where the bone on the inside & outside of your ankle are offset, curving across the forefoot towards your toes. A Boa dial cinches the shoe up tight, with the Tempo adding a single velcro strap as well.

The Vento X3 mountain bike shoes are the more premium of the new Overcurves, pairing the microtex upper with an injection molded, carbon fiber sole for XC race stiffness.

Developed with Fizik’s pro athletes, the Vento Overcurve X3 offers much of the performance of their halo Infinito X1 shoes at a much more attainable pricing level.

The 219€ Vento Overcurve X3 features a single, micro-adjust Boa IP1 dial closure, a perforated synthetic upper with reinforcement at the toe & heel, plus a rubberized toe bumper and molded polyurethane tread lugs.

The Vento X3 weighs 288g per shoe (size 42) and is available in half sizes from 37-47, plus 36 & 48, and in all black, white with black, or red & black.

2019 Fizik Tempo Overcurve R5 road bike shoes

Just over a week ago Fizik unveiled a new, mid-level performance road shoe with a return to simple velcro straps. Now that same general construction gets updated, and more asymmetric with the new Tempo Overcurve R5.

Like the XC Vento, the road Tempo Overcurve gets an even more offset design to improve fit, comfort & performance. The 149€ Tempo Overcurve R5 gets the same micro-adjust Boa IP1 closure up top, paired with velcro across the forefoot. The road shoe is cheaper (and steps down to the 5 level) thanks to a reinforced nylon road sole – the same as in the even more affordable velcro Powerstrap version, that Fizik says still delivers long distance pedaling efficiency.

The new Tempo Overcurve R5 is said to weigh 253g per shoe (size 42), and comes in half sizes from 37-47, plus sizes 36 & 48. It is available in a wider array of colors, including: all black, white/black, white/red, black/fluorescent yellow & black/fluorescent pink.
