Have you ever eyeballed a pro rider’s bike and wished you had one that looked just like it? Well if you’re a fan of the Forbidden Synthesis Factory Team, your chance is now! Forbidden has just announced the Dreadnought GX LTD Team Edition, a replica of the team racers’ bikes that offers a more affordable build than the top-level bikes the pros ride, but only some of us can afford.

This is a truly limited edition build, with only 200 units available. All the LTD Team Edition bikes will be assembled in Forbidden Bike Co.’s new facility in the company’s home base of Cumberland, B.C. The LTD bikes do offer some customization options, so read up on all the details below.

Dreadnought GX LTD Team Edition – Build Spec:

Forbidden LTD Team Edition bike

The LTD Team Edition build starts with a full carbon Dreadnought frame, which offers 154mm of rear travel (and with their high-pivot suspension layout, that 154mm is designed to ride like a longer travel bike).

Forbidden Dreadnaught black

Forbidden didn’t skimp on suspension components, offering a 170mm Rockshox ZEB Ultimate and Super Deluxe Ultimate rear shock combo for the LTD Team Edition (Fox, Ohlins and Push rear shock upgrades are also available). SRAM supplies their GX 12 speed drivetrain, and 4-piston Code R brakes with 200mm rotors front and rear.

There are some options for the buyer when it comes to wheels: The LTD Team Edition bikes come with Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Alloy wheels, but you can choose between a 29” or mixed size/mullet set. As for rubber, you’ll get a Maxxis Assegai 3C MaxTerra 2.5” front, and a Minion DHR II 3C MaxTerra 2.4” rear, but Forbidden says riders can choose the casing they prefer (EXO+ or DoubleDown).

Forbidden Dreadnaught handlebar

Following their ‘One Ride Philosophy’, Forbidden specs each different frame size with a different rise handlebar. These bikes come equipped with Burgtec MK3 Enduro stems (42.5mm reach) and Ride Wide Alloy Enduro bars; All bars are 800mm wide but small frames get 15mm rise, mediums get 22.5mm, larges go to 30mm and XL’s run a 38mm rise. Burgtec also provides their Bar Tender Pro grips.

Oneup dropper post

A Fizik Terra X5 saddle sits atop a OneUp Components V2 dropper post. According to frame size, travel numbers are 120mm (small), 150mm (medium), 180mm (large) and 210mm (XL).

Last but not least, the buyer also gets to choose between two available frame colors – Blue Heat (blue/black) or Stealth (black).

“This is a truly limited edition build, with only 200 units available”

200 units of a $7000 bike from a fairly niche brand .. lol if that’s ‘limited’
