The NY Times’ Freakonomics blog has an interesting story on the seemingly overpriced used bike market in bike-friendly cities.  The author was in Portland, OR, for a spell and needed a cheap bike to get around but couldn’t find one for under $300…even total P.O.S. bikes that didn’t fit him.  After finding the first (legitimate) 50 items on Craigslist for each of the cities shown above for used bikes and used cars for sale, the median pricing shows a perfect inverse relationship.  Read the full article here.
