Revolver Bar Ends 3

Yes, the fact that I would annoy my friends with the constant “pew pew pew” sound effects is almost reason enough to buy these. But aside from the trigger like mechanism there is a function to these that commuters, urban road warriors and long distance touring or mountain bike riders may find handy.

Fire past the break and see if you’d take these for a spin….

We’ve all seen people use bar ends on the street as an alternative hand position, and it’s not all that uncommon to see someone take them and aim them sky high so to sit as upright as possible. In short, the Revolver is a bar end that doesn’t force you to pick it and stick it with its position.

The Revolver rotating bar ends are the brain child and Kickstarter project of former messenger and sufferer of back pain, Mike Lane. Mike’s idea is to take some of the pain out of the back by changing how much you’re bent over throughout your ride. Offering up to 8 positions, (likely 5 useful ones), throughout its 360° rotation you can easily dial in where you want to be on the fly. *pew pew pew*

The original prototype, way up top was too uncomfortable, and the one just above, though much more comfortable was a bit clunky, so Mike is working towards something as sleek as the first prototype, but as comfortable as the 2nd one. From there, he wants to offer various models with names like Dirty Harry, and the Bronson…… Reservoir Dog anybody?

Check out Mike’s Kickstarter video below and go to his page if you feel like pulling the trigger to arm your bike with the Revolvers (ha…. I kill me).

It’s not for me, but might help someone else. Thus I have no issues with it.

@Tim – I have a set with integrated 8-speed shifters if you’re interested.

@Seraph- I parted ways with my 8-speed stuff. Plus I am living abroad where there are not so many good trails, so my want is notional more than anything even as wants go, unfortunately. Thanks for thinking of me, though!

I expected nothing but cynical old fart roadie comments and the comments did not disappoint. Nice idea. I imagine a locking ratchet style system would have been far simpler and would let you do away with the trigger. Include me on the royalties if you do end up pursuing it :-). But if you do insist on the trigger, please engineer a way to load the bar end with poison darts so we can fire at crackhead jaywalkers and obnoxious cyclists. Thank you
