If you open up your hydration pack, there’s a solid chance that a HydraPak reservoir is inside. The company makes many of the hydration bladders found in high-end packs, as well as a number of their own sold separately. The new Cenote reservoir though is an exciting addition to the lineup that is both affordable and made in the USA.
“Crafted in Colorado” not only sounds better, but it helps to reduce the environmental impact from shipping materials and products from overseas. The bladder itself is 100% BPA & PVC free, made from PE, TPU, HDPE, silicone, and Tritan Copolyester materials for various components.
Offered in 2L or 3L versions, the reservoirs are designed to fit most backpacks making it the “ideal choice for day hiking, family bike rides, and camping.”
These don’t have the massive slide-lock opening of many HydraPak bladders, but they do have a wide-mouth cap with handle that should be big enough to get ice inside. The Cenote includes a 36″ HydraFlex drink tube with their self-sealing Phaser valve for “hands-free drinking” (you know, once you use your hands to put the valve in your mouth).
Maybe the best part is the Cenote is priced at $24 for the 2L, and $26 for the 3L. That makes it quite a bit more affordable than HydraPak’s own Shape-Shift bladders, and the Cenote still includes their Beyond Lifetime Guarantee. Available now.
