The only thing better than buying a new bike is getting one for free! Today Bikerumor brings you two chances to win either a complete custom-built Santa Cruz Hightower or a Revel Rascal frame with a custom graphic wrap.

If you’re after the Hightower, it’s up for grabs through the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship’s ‘5 Bucks a Foot’ fundraiser. The fundraiser aims to raise money for the construction of the Connected Communities trail network Bikerumor covered upon its announcement back in March.

Colorado’s Revel Bikes has also launched their own giveaway, offering a custom-wrapped Rascal frame. All you have to do is enter online and their colorful, floral frame could be yours to build up.

SBTS ‘5 Bucks a Foot’ Santa Cruz Hightower raffle:

The SBTS’ ‘5 Bucks a Foot’ fundraiser returns for 2021, and this time the prize is a customized Santa Cruz Hightower. 100% of the money raised by the raffle goes straight to the SBTS, so they can continue developing the Trails Master Plan for the Connected Communities trail network.

The multi-use Connected Communities trail network was envisioned as an economic stimulator for California’s Plumas, Sierra, Butte and Lassen Counties, aiming to bring recreational tourism to a struggling area that previously depended on resource-based industries.

This Hightower’s build features some top-shelf components (many from California-based companies). A complete spec list wasn’t provided, but in the photos we can see a Fox 36 Factory fork and Float Factory DPX2 rear shock, Santa Cruz’s Reserve 30 29” carbon wheels, Shimano XTR brakes and shifting, and a Kashima-coated Fox Transfer dropper post.

Some of the more unique touches include a set of White Brothers Industries cranks, a custom WTB Downieville Classic saddle, and the purple stuff! In addition to the crank hardware and spoke nipples, the White Industries hubs and Paul Components’ stem, headset spacers, dropper post lever, and rear QR thru-axle all bear a bright purple finish.

Unfortunately due to Covid-related supply issues, this year’s bike doesn’t come with the option of whatever frame size the winner wants – The prize bike for 2021 is a size Large.

Thanks to BikeFlights covering the shipping the Hightower can be sent anywhere in the world, so this raffle is open to everyone who has a credit card. If the winner happens to live close enough, the bike can be picked up at The Lure Resort in Downieville, California, who will treat you to a free weekend of lodging! The SBTS is hoping to raise $75,000, and one-time donations of $5 or more can be made by clicking here.

Revel Rascal custom wrapped frame contest:

Revel Rascal, custom wrapped, sideRevel Bikes has teamed up with Skida Headwear and Accessories to offer a custom-wrapped Rascal frame to one lucky contest winner. All you have to do is go online and enter, and it could be yours!

Revel Rascal, custom wrapped frame

Skida is owned by Revel’s team rider Corrine Prevot, and her company has already created custom bike wraps for herself and fellow Revel rider Lani Bruntz. The latest wrap up for grabs boasts a bold floral pattern they’ve dubbed ‘Sedona Red’. This pattern can also be found on a line of Skida’s hats and garments. Despite the name the colorway was actually inspired by the red rock surrounding Revel’s headquarters in Carbondale, Colorado.

If you’re not familiar, Revel’s Rascal is a 130/140mm travel 29er. It is designed as an all-around trail bike, and relies on Canfield Balance Formula suspension to provide pedalling efficiency with a broad ‘sweet spot’. Rascal frames accept 31.6mm seat posts, 148mm Boost rear axles, and use 73mm threaded BB’s.

Conveniently Revel has decided the winner can choose whatever frame size they require (S/M/L/XL), and the freshly wrapped frame will be delivered to the winner within three months.

White Industries Cranks, not White Brothers.

I’m usually all for custom bikes but something about the colorway on that SC just doesn’t do it for me. Maybe some custom purple decals on the frame and fork would help tie it all together.

June 6th, is that a typo? Do you all mean July 6th?
