Many people would kill to ride in Iceland. After all, the country is filled with incredible mountains, volcanoes, glaciers, hot springs, waterfalls, and just about any other natural beauty you could imagine. But for Hans Rey and Steve Peat, just riding in Iceland wasn’t enough. To make it a trip of a life time, the two decided to traverse the country from North to South with local rider Runar Omarsson and support from Icebike Adventures. Maybe with Peaty retiring after the 2016 season, he’ll team up with Hans for more adventures like this…

Such beautiful landscapes, such legendary riders, such an odd uncomfortable video. Song choice was bizarre – nice songs but didn’t fit at all. Pace didn’t match what was on screen, and there was no flow at all, finishing one and starting another during a montage of slomo 1-foot wheelies. I love watching peaty but this was actually awkward.

Should have been gentle atmosphere music (if any) for a vid like that. Let the pictures do the talking. No need to slomo such tiny moves either. It felt awkward. It’s not a Fest series video! Soundtrack sounded like one tho. All the budget, no idea.

Grand epic landscape riding videos have been done worth great effect. This was not one.

Was really looking forward to this, but it really didn’t hit the mark for me. Hate to be a party pooper. So I’ll be constructive…

Such beautiful landscapes, such legendary riders, but such an oddly confused video almost purely because of the audio. Nice songs but didn’t fit the pace of what was on screen, and there was no flow at all, finishing one and starting another during a montage of slomo wheelies. I love watching peaty usually but this was a bit awkward.

Anyway. Always thankful for content regardless, watched it on mute. Much better. Listened to the songs separately too. Nice.

Great video. It gives me what I want, which is, inspires me to ride. I had the sound off because I watched at work. Bad music can deduct a few points.

Why do pros always see the need to skid through delicate tundra? Its so much blatant destruction of a fragile ecosystem. They’re going to get mountain biking banned in Iceland if they’re not careful.

Agree w Alexander,
skidding through corners at your local favorite spot is not cool, and so much less when you are a guest.

Someone should tell these guys.

It is OK for them to skid on delicate terrain.
They are industry ” taste makers ” .

Agree with above statements about skidding–super douchey. Also, nobody…I repeat…nobody doing anything physically exhaustive is drinking energy drinks.

the mismatched music and skidding on the tundra turned me off too, glad to see that some people have already stepped up to say so; i would think Clif, if not Monster, should be unhappy to be associated with that behavior

OK… I’ll tread lightly here so that BikeRumor doesn’t delete me.

Most of the comments above resonate w/ me.
Way too many logos. There are folks riding that terrain w/o the corporate “look at me” scheme.
The GF and I spent a month riding in Iceland sans sponsorship. She’s a grade school teacher and somehow we managed it. I suppose we saved w/o the guides, 4×4, and cameras.

Way too many cool guy moments. Can we let the slow-mo go now film makers? Please?
All the check boxes were checked- beer moments, putting coats on in drizzle, view from the tents, rad 4×4 being rad, high sideways shots from a drone, carrying the bikes, campfire in a place that has about 12 trees in the entire country….blah blah blah.

So how is is that we take a stack of amazing riders and put them in some of the most amazing terrain I’ve ever seen (likely will ever see) and many of us are not satisfied by it?

I’m going for a ride to think on it.
