NAHBS 2018: Mosaic adds a gravel tourer; No.22 adds stock sizing, headsets & custom ano

Mosaic’s new GT2 titanium 650b gravel bike is more adventure ready than the racier 700c model. It’s not just tire size that separates it, the bike gets a lower bottom bracket height and longer chainstays. That combo offers better stability and straight-line handling, a good thing when you’ve been on the bike for hours or navigating loose gravel roads.

Can do any bolts for any frame bags or mounts, all custom. Tubes are ready for light backpacking, and this one’s outfitted with J Paks bags.

Mosaic builds with both steel and titanium, and offers partial or full paint coverage.

And splatter. We liked the clean mounting of the new Shimano Di2 remote shifter buttons. They used sticky tape or glue rather than zip ties.

NO.22 ADDS STOCK SIZING & MORE

No.22 has added a new stock program to offer their most popular frames in common sizes so you can get them quicker and cheaper than full custom. Not cheap, just cheaper, but with all the same attention to detail that makes their bikes stand out. And now, actually, even more detail than ever before.

Choose from the Great Divide rim and disc brake road bikes, or the Drifter gravel road bike. All stock sizing will only get mechanical shifting cable setups, with Ultegra R8000 as the main build for complete bikes. The disc brake models are $6,799 complete with their new ti seatpost.

A new fork on the Drifter adds more tire clearance but has a lower axle to crown height for lower overall stack. Its disc chainstays gain 1-2mm more tire clearance, and heel clearance adds about 8mm more room thanks to a new bent chainstays design rather than straight tubes.

All models now have a specific finish scheme (meaning the stripes and shapes), and there are new green and turquoise colors and four different fades. Single color ano adds $400, and the fades are $700

They can even do color matched ano details on King Cages.

They’re now making their own titanium seat posts. Choose from 25mm and 0mm setback for stock, or custom, all using ENVE clamp hardware.

The seatmast toppers also get more setback options.

They’re also spec’ing their own headset now to give the bikes a cleaner look thanks to a drop in design and the ability to make tapered top caps to improve aesthetics.

Cockpit parts can be painted to match the ano treatment. Note the purple to gold fade anodization, just one of the options.

As part of the Best Silca Integration contest, they had Silca send them the internals and specs for their frame pump, then manufactured their own titanium barrel. So, the two titanium Silca pumps shown above are, for now, the only ones in existence.

The anodizing and polishing was matched flawlessly between frames and pumps. When you slid the handle back to pump, it had Silca’s logo polished into the barrel.
