DT Swiss sent us a preview of their 2010 new products, all to be unveiled at Sea Otter in a couple of weeks.  So, for now, all we have are these lo-res images and teasers, but we can make a few predictions:

Their current XRC 1250 mountain bike wheelset has carbon rims, uses ceramic bearings and weighs 580g (f) and 650g (r), uses bladed spokes and only standard QR.  From the pic, it’s tough to tell if the 1350 will have bladed spokes…the other wheels at this level do, but they’re very small blades.  It will have far more axle width and mounting options, likely with minimal weight gain.  Their current 1450 wheelset only gains 30g from the QR to 15mm thru axle on the front.  Lastly, they’ll likely be available in both 6-bolt IS and CenterLock versions like their other wheels.

The EXC 1550 looks exciting…400g for a rim is freakin’ light even for an XC specific model, and this claims to be All Mountain worthy.

Hit “more’ to see the other new items, including an all-carbon suspension fork weighing just 1250g, a new shock and carbon road wheels…

We reported on this new fork in a previous post, which was launched through a UK distributor, so this recent news must mean it’s coming stateside sometime this year.  It weighs just 1250g (2.76 lb) with remote lockout and is carbon everywhere but the sliders and (presumably) dropouts.  MSRP will likely be somewhere around $1,360 USD, and if they follow suit in the US, it’ll be available without the remote lockout, too, saving a few more grams.

DT Swiss already makes a carbon-bodied shock, which was originally spec’d on the new Trek Top Fuel 9.9 SSL until they couldn’t meet production, and there are plenty of teams and top racers riding their shocks.  So, while info on this is nil, it should be good.

Lastly, some new road wheels.  Based on the rest of their line, these are the first deep section rims from DT Swiss.

The “titanium wheel mounting system” is DT’s take on the QR skewer.  Instead of using an eccentric lever system like standard quick release levers, theirs (shown below) uses the lever to twist tighten the wheel onto the bike, then the lever can be raised and rotated to any position desired.  They claim it is up to 50% tighter than standard QR’s, and these Titanium versions weigh just 37g (f) and 39g (r).
