Sun’s out guns out, an all. So it’s time to stop showing up to the ride wearing kit from three seasons ago that you’ve been hiding under a jacket all winter. For an edgier, more sophisticated look, Pas Normal Studios has some pretty racy threads that subtlety stand out. And then there is Etxeondo’s new Spring & Summer line that comes in all sorts of fun colors and styles. For after the ride, Rudy Project has added some new styling shades that keep you looking suave despite that fatigued, post-ride look in your eyes…
Pas Normal
Made in Italy, Pas Normal’s Aero Suit in navy ($310/€315) is cut and fitted to keep you both as aerodynamic and as comfortable as possible.
The Pas Normal Race Jersey, ($182/€175) is their new ultra lightweight race-cut jersey that comes in black, gray, or navy. They’ve updated it to provide a better anatomical fit while on the bike as well as improved the pocket size.
You can never have enough caps, and though nice by itself, if you’re planning on suiting up in any of their new threads above, not topping it off with a matching cap ($27/€24) would be a fashion faux Pas.
While in parts of the northern hemisphere people are jumping in their pools already, even where I am in the South, we’re still seeing some pretty chilly mornings. Something like the stuffable light-weight & water resistant Stow Away Jacket ($287/€255) or their light-weight microfiber Neck-tube Light ($21/€19), might be just enough to bring you back into the comfort zone during an early morning ride.
Etxeondo
A little on the brighter side, Etxeondo brings an extensive range of wares for both men and women. Up top are the Aroa and Aroa sleeveless. Made of their Microsystem fabric, the Aroa jerseys are designed to keep you dry as well as comfortable. On the bottom is their “1976” sleeveless jersey made of Superdry material for even more moisture control for the hottest of days. Lastly, their Konbina jersey does a combination of the other two lines and provides a soft touch feel as well.
For the Gents, the all black Summum jersey uses their Microsystem and Prosoft fabrics to keep the jersey lightweight and soft while their Neoair fabric incorporates a dimpled texture to improve airflow for aerodynamics. The blue Feather jersey at top is their simple no frills option with a 3/4 zipper. The red number on the bottom on the other hand is their premium Team Edition jersey made of their Superdry material, and is the very same one as used by Team Giant-Shimano. Lastly, the Trier TX jersey is a sporty design that incorporates a more fitted collar when zipped up.
Rudy Project
As we’ve seen before, Rudy Project has taken the optic technology of their iconic riding spectacles and expanded into casual shades you can wear off the bike, with even more options now. Up top are the Soundwave models in Turtle gloss with their Polar 3FX Brown Laser lenses, and Lemon Green with Multilaser Lime lenses. On the bottom are the Momentums in Green Wood matte with Laser Musk lenses and Ice Sky matte with Multilaser ice lenses… all retailing for $175 a pop.
