Patrol’s newest mountain bike, the 691 stood out from their human-powered line up. So it should make sense then that the new E-Six stood out for similar reasons, just with the addition of a motor. Essentially the same bike in e-bike form, the E-Six joins the E-Zero as two new electric options from Patrol in 2020.

E-Six

Using very similar frame geometries, the E-Six also features the same amount of travel and similar suspension set up. Running 150mm in the rear and 160mm from the Fox 36 fork up front, the aluminum frames include a Shimano E8000 motor with a 36V 630Wh battery integrated into the downtube.

Even though the 691 opts for Super Boost 157mm rear spacing, the E-Six keeps with Boost 148mm spacing. Otherwise, it runs the same wheels and tires with Maxxis Minion DHR II 29 x 2.6″ WT rubber on Sun Ringle Duroc 40 rims and Shimano hubs.

Each bike is equipped with the Shimano STEPS handlebar display and left hand shifter/control unit. The drivetrains are mechanical though with the E-Six running a 1×12 Shimano SLX group and the E-Six S bumping up to a 1×12 Shimano Deore group. Both builds use the Shimano SLX 10-51t 12 speed cassette.

Each build is available in three different colors with the E-Six priced at $5,499 and the E-Six S priced at $6,299.

E-Zero

Where the E-Six has 6″ of travel, the E-Zero is, you guessed it, a hardtail. Built with the same Shimano Steps E8000 drivetrain and 36v 630Wh battery integrated into the downtube, the E-Zero offers a similar pedal-assisted ride but more focused on cross country.

In this case the integrated battery is not easily removable from the frame so both e-bikes include a charging port on the seat tube above the motor.

Split between the E-Zero and E-Zero S, the bikes have similar differences in spec as the E-Six models with 1×12 SLX & XT options. The E-Zero does run on narrower 29 x 2.4″ WT Maxxis Rekon tires but still on Sun Ringle Duroc 40 rims.

Also offered in three colors, the E-Zero will sell for $4,499 and $4,999 for the E-Zero S model.

591

Even though the frame is technically unchanged, the 591 continues in the lineup with new colors and new spec. This bike runs 130mm rear and 140mm front suspension with a similar frame layout to the new 691.

However, the geometry remains unchanged which is quite a bit steeper with shorter reach than the 691. Because of that, the 591 remains as more of a traditional trail bike – if you’re looking for the longer/slacker/steeper seat tube geometry of modern bikes this isn’t for you.

Available in three colors and standard or S spec like the other models with 1×12 SLX & XT options, the 591 is priced at $2,999 and the 591 S runs $3,799. A frame is available for $1,599 as well.

To keep things fun on the pump track and the dirt jumps, the Patrol 0-Six is a purpose built ripper with a very enticing price tag. While it looks like a complete might not be offered, the double butted aluminum frame will sell for just $299.

Horizontal dropouts are perfect for running single speed, but the personal bike of Dominic from Funn shows that a derailleur hanger for gears may be a possibility.

Offered in one size, the 0-Six runs on 26″ wheels and tires.

091, 092, 093, 094/074

Patrol also has a full line of XC hardtails which all feature Boost 148mm spacing and 29″ wheels – except the 074, which is the Small and Medium sized version of the 094 with 27.5″ wheels.

The 091 is the top of the line model with a Shimano SLX 1×12 drivetrain, and the spec descends from there. Apparently for now, the hardtails are the only frames made in their Indonesia factory with the remaining bikes made in one of two factories in China.

016, 020

Finally, Patrol has two different kids’ models with the 016 and 020. As the new naming structure would suggest, those are both zero travel in the rear with 16 or 20″ wheels. The 020 does get a front suspension fork however.

Both bikes include double butted aluminum frames and a solid spec that’s split between keeping them light and keeping them affordable. The result is a $299 016 and $599 020.

Like the 691, the bikes will be available at the end of this year with pre-orders for dealers and distributors starting now.

If you want e-bike news, go to e-bike rumor. They always claim to not do e-bike news here, but they make too much money on it to stop.

Please start cover gas bikes too. Then I can get all my hobby news in one place. Would love to see the new 450’s in a shoot-out.

Surely the geo chart for the DJ bike is wrong. 380mm top tube length? 14.96 is more like a chainstay length, not a top tube.
