PNW Components out of Seattle are set on the idea of making well thought out mountain bike parts more attainable by keeping costs manageable. That had been pretty much exclusively limited to dropper seatposts. Until now with the Range enduro stem, PNW is offering an affordable short 31.8 stem that integrates an adjustable out-front style GoPro or Garmin mount so you can mount those key electronics front & center.

Range enduro stem with integrated GoPro or Garmin mount

The Range stem is a pretty standard 3D forged aluminum mountain bike stem with a four-bolt, one-piece removable faceplate. But in the window of that faceplate is an offset so you can clamp one of two accessory mounts – for the standard two-tab GoPro mount or a 1/4 turn Garmin mount.

Available in 35mm (153g) or 45mm lengths for a 1.125″ steerer and 31.8mm handlebar, the trail stem sells for $89 with the GoPro mount or $94 with the Garmin mount.

We haven’t seen the Garmin version yet, but the GoPro one uses a short tab that can be positioned up or down in the faceplate window to give you more flexibility to the setup while sticking with a short offset for a stiff mount and stable footage. Presumably the Garmin version will work in the same manner, allowing you to dial in the angle of your screen.

Both versions seem to be available now, direct from PNW.

Bontrager do something very similar, but as you’d expect from them it comes with a price tag of ‘ive just dropped $10k on a Trek and want ALL the branded accessories’.

@richard Elsdon, are you just complaining about Trek for the sake of complaining or are you looking at the wrong price? The Bontrager Blendr looks to be $55 for the entry level stem+base+GoPro mount, which is significantly cheaper than the article you are commenting on. The PNW is cool in that it is an actual mtb stem instead of the roadie-looking one that Bontrager is selling.

Ah, I see Bontrager have expanded the line. Most online stores still only show the old version where the Elite model only accepted their own computer mount and that was it, so you had to go XXX level (£170 stem) for garmin or GoPro compatibility. I see there is now a new compatibility guide where Elite stems have a new piece that allows full compatibility with all their accessories.

Or you could just buy a K-Edge…
