Thanks to a gift from the one and only Peter Sagan, His Holiness now rides a Specialized. OK, we’re not sure he’ll actually ride it, but he could. Just probably without the robes. And hopefully a helmet – perhaps one to match the World Champion jersey also gifted to Pope Francis by Sagan.
During a recent meeting at the Vatican, Peter Sagan had a chance to meet Pope Francis and hand over the gifts which included the Bora Hansgrohe jersey with the rainbow stripes, and a custom S-Works Venge. Of course you can’t give the Pope just any old Venge, so this one featured a predominantly white paint scheme with yellow accents to represent the colors of the Holy See. We’re guessing the bike will end up as wall art somewhere, but how crazy would it be to see the Pope spin by you on a custom Venge out on the road?
