CNC machined from 7075 T6 alloy and compatible with all Garmin Edge cycling computers, Rotor’s new computer mount promises to be very light. Technically, they won’t be available until next year, but VeloServices UK has their hands on about 20 of them, selling for £29.99 (incl. VAT). Handlebar clamp diameter is 31.8mm, and it’s good for road or mountain bike use. No weight is claimed yet.

What’s Rotor’s interest in this segment? Well, they’re pretty pro at machining things out of aluminum, as evidenced by their 3D+ crank arms, and you’ll need somewhere to put your computer so you can read the power output from their Rotor Power and new Power LT cranksets.

Now if only I could find a mount for 35mm bars

Yawn, yet another Garmin mount that attaches to the right side of the bar. News flash: that’s where Di2 climbing shifters are mounted. If a manufacture really wanted to “differentiate” themselves, they could flip the CAD drawing and machine one that mounted to the left side of the bar. Oh, and those Rotor logos look gaudy.

looks like it is headed for the same pitfall as the original k-edge mount – all aluminum. the all aluminum engagement mechanism will eat away at the quarter turn mount on the garmin unit. and garmin will not warranty it. better off with a plastic engagement parts. just get a plastic barfly or newer k-edge with plastic parts where it matters.

I couldn’t even make a climb yesterday cause of my heavy Garmin mount.

It looks really good, but I’m suprised they didn’t learn from K-edge’s original mistake of making the Garmin attachment interface all metal: users quickly found out that the metal interface grinds down the plastic tabs on their Garmins. Version two (the current version) K-edges have a plastic attachement. If somebody from Rotor sees this comment, you’ve been warned! 😉

What’s it going to take to get someone to machine something for the Joule?

I’ve had my gen 1 K-Edge mount with my Edge 500 for over a year now with no appreciable sign of wear to the tabs. Common sense and handling your equipment in the proper manner goes a long way.

“Common sense and handling your equipment in the proper manner”.

That’s asking a lot.

Guys, stop looking for these kind of adapters…
Get these, I own 2 of them and they work great and the guy who makes them even makes custom sizes for a little more money!! I like them BIG time and your cockpit really looks better! http://edge-mount.bike/
