So you don’t want to wear a hydration pack, but you need more hydration than a single bottle? What about protection, need that too? If so, Alpinestar’s new Paragon bib liner may be the answer. Part lightweight bib liner and part armored transport vehicle, the Paragon will give you a lot of storage and protection options while keeping it fairly stealth…

Realistically, the Paragon will most likely appeal to Enduro racers who need protection as much as they need storage. In fact, many enduro races require spine protection, so the Paragon has you covered with a Level 1 CE Certified SAS-TEC back protector that is removable if you don’t want to run it when you aren’t required to. There are also removable impact absorbing EVA foam pads on the hips to prevent those stingers from landing hard on your side.

Above the spine protector, there is a separate pocket meant to hold a hydration bladder, though it’s not included with the bib. Alpinestar’s Giulio Neri says it will fit most 1.5 liter bladders, and there is a guide located on the right bib strap to keep the hose in place. Again, the bib can be used with or without the bladder providing you some options.

Further storage is offered with three pockets on the lower back with a flap that allows them to hang over the waist of your shorts. Other details include a high quality triple density gel chamois, and nicer compressive leg grippers. Priced at $239, the Paragon bib is available now.

Has anyone been able to find these anywhere? It doesn’t come up on Alpinestars website for me either.
