If your’re looking for new shoes for flats, Giro has an all new option with the Riddance. Taking the place of the Jacket as their high end flat pedal shoe, the Riddance offers grip through the Vibram Megagrip ISR outsole with host of other technical features to make it stand out.
Offered in low top or mids, the upper is a water resistant, perforated microfiber with Rockprint reinforcements in high wear/impact areas. The shoe features an EVA midsole and molded DH EVA footbed with arch support, and rubber toe and heel reinforcements for even more durability. The mids also include a velcro power strap at the ankle. The standard Riddance sells for $129, while the Mids are $10 more.
With the riddance taking the top spot, the Jacket II has been detuned a bit to be more of a casual shoe that can also be ridden in. It still has a Vibram sole, but this time it’s an Ecostep outsole with an EVA midsole and die cut EVVA foam footbed. You can pick these up for $99.
Even if you’re not interested in flat pedals, Giro still has you covered with the new Chamber II. One of the favorites of a few top EWS riders, the shoes feature a 10mm rear set cleat pocket in keeping with current trends of rearward cleat placement. Built with a Vibram outsole, this is also Giro’s first use of an injection molded EVA footbed which cuts down on waste but also makes for a more dimensionally accurate fit. Available in two colors, the shoes have a claimed weight of 510g for a 43, and sell for $149.
