The idea is a simple one we’ve seen time and again in other industries: sign up, pay a monthly fee, and new product shows up in the mail each month. With the recent rise in cycling of some really unique and flashy sock designs, classic white is falling out of fashion, and we are no longer limited to a black alternative or some ironic cartoon designs. Foot Revolution has picked up on the strong #sockgame phenomena that has made tons of options available in bright colors, unique patterns, and exciting designs. So now when you can think of what to give your cycling partner who really has everything, you can see that a fresh and snazzy pair of cycling foot tubes shows up in the mail each month. Slide past the break for the cost, subscription details and how to join in either for your self or as a gift…

Every cyclist can benefit from a little more color and creativity in their life. So now, once a month Foot Revolution will send you or a friend a random new pair of high quality, eye-catching cycling socks from one of the many design-focused companies out there now touting their newest look. Some of the brands being featured include Base CartelHandlebar Mustache, MaglianeraPacific & Co., Tenspeed Hero, among many others…

The cycling sock subscription service works fairly simply once you select your desired sock size – you can either pay up front for three months for $45, six months for $84, or a year for $156 or get it for a recurring charge of $15 which you can always cancel prior to the next month’s delivery. Shipping is included in the preset price, even internationally, all via USPS.

Cycling socks have become a good way for cyclists to express a bit of individuality, so Foot Revolution wants to make sure that you have a constant supply of fresh new designs. And what better present for the cyclist who has everything…

Company has tapped into cycling genius. My first pair arrived a week ago, high quality and sexy. I am already pumped for my December package to arrive.

I know I’m a curmudgeon, but really? 12 new pairs of socks per year? This is the definition of profligacy and wastefulness. How sad that fashionistas want to invade an elemental and honest sport.

I was not referring to racing. If you are really racing, you are wearing team gear. I mean honest in the sense that you pedal hard, you go fast, if you don’t, you don’t.

“elemental and honest sport”? You’re not just a curmudgeon, you’re downright delusional. “fashionistas want to invade”? The invasion is over, welcome your new Rapha clad overlords. I think if you want to talk about wanton wastefulness and consumerism in cycling, socks are pretty benign.

When was the last time you purchased socks?

The average price of a pair of really nice socks is $15. It’s been that way for a long time! That is the cost without shipping so your normal total would be $180. This seems like a great deal. It also will expose people to small brands that are normally are under the radar

Lots of great socks are still $10-12 per pair. That said, I don’t care if these were $8 a pair. Unless you’re a beginner without any socks, who needs 12 in a year? I ride over 12,000 miles a year, my good socks last. I may replace the pair in worst shape 1-2 times a year now. I can’t even fit more socks in my shared undie drawer.

thank you, my point exactly. I have 5 or 6 good pairs of socks, accumulated over the past 3 years, and it’s plenty. Showing up with different/flamboyant socks every time you ride just marks you out as the ultimate poser, trying way to hard to be “interesting”.

What if somebody has lots of fun socks, is faster than you, is actually interesting, and maybe even volunteers to do some trail work when they have time because they aren’t spending so much time being a hater on BR? What’s worse – trying too hard to be interesting with sock options, or trying too hard to be a purist and convince everybody that only you really understand our sport deep inside your un-superficial heart and that frivolous spending on unnecessary socks is leading to the downfall of our sport? Get over yourself. Judging people for the socks they choose to wear is pretty low.

It’s always fun when one person tells someone else or a bunch of someone elses what they don’t need. I can’t wait for the next cycling expert and opinion decider election.

Did you mean to say you write over 12,000 bikerumor.com comments a year? Surely that warrants a new pair of socks each month, no?

I blow out roughly one pair of socks per month, sounds pretty dialed to me.

The thrill of the hunt is lost, as is any deeper meaning; e.g. souvenir from trip, LBS swag, accomplished rides, matchy-match, etc.

I wear only bike socks. EVERYWHERE. Need to dress up in a suit? I wear my Wool nicer ones. This makes sense…
