Now with a lower standover and stack height than ever, the 100mm and 115mm travel Spot Ryve models give the shortest riders a 29er full suspension race bike with no, um, shortcuts.

Designed for riders from 4’11” to 5’2″ (149.9cm to 157.5cm), this makes it a perfect, if expensive, kids mountain bike, too. Both are available as complete bikes or framesets, too.

The Ryve model uses their Living Link suspension to control the rear end’s movement. Unlike traditional linkages, the lower “link” is actually a carbon fiber composite plate that acts as a leaf spring. This imparts some of the suspension’s performance, so it’s not relying solely on the rear shock to deliver the compression and rebound tuning.

Check out the video in our coverage of the updated Ryve’s launch for more details on how that works, along with a complete overview of the Ryve frame and tech.

While the standover for the XS isn’t drastically lower than the Small, the Stack is almost a full inch lower, and the effective top tube length is more than an inch shorter. And it might even still be able to use a 125mm dropper post, like the Small and Medium.

I wonder where they measure their standover height from? The bottom of the dip (under the nose of the saddle)? Or where you actually straddle the bike, more like 8″ ahead of the bb?

This is a big beef I’ve had since I’ve worked in bike shops for a decade… there’s a certain company whose name begins with P and ends with ivot that, at one point in time, was extraordinarily proud of having “industry leading” low standovers… measured at the top tube/seat tube junction. A lot of manufacturers are giving the measurement straight up from the bottom bracket, which is slightly more real-world. I’d be wonderful if that could be standardized, or at least stated in geo charts for a more apples-to-apples comparison for consumers who still use standover as a point of contention between frames.
