The newest version of the Transition DH bike still goes to 11. Why not 12? Well, they tried that, and their test pilots, well, they died. But even though the TR11 hasn’t gone 12, it has gained some important updates to keep it on the cutting edge – assuming you’re not ready to go full wagon wheel or mullet bike.

You can always count on Transition Bikes for some irreverent humor, and in this case, the team tries to go to 12 with disastrous results. Maybe next year?

However, the TR11 is still worth a look since it has a revised geometry meant to provide a “more balanced rider position to improve front wheel traction and provide more control.”

That was accomplished with longer chainstays, longer reach numbers, and a slightly higher bottom bracket position. Each frame also now includes a custom 56mm zero stack reach adjust headset that results in +0mm or +5mm reach adjust settings.

While the suspension layout remains largely unchanged, the frame does run a longer stroke 250 x 75mm shock with improved kinematics in their Gravity Giddy Up 2.0hh design. Elsewhere the frame still includes an 83mm threaded BB, rubber molded frame protection, external brake routing, ISCG 05 tabs, and a carbon frame that weighs in at 8.8 lbs. Designed around 27.5″ wheels and tires, you’ll have room for a 2.5″ wide tire out back.
