Fresh off its updated GS1 gravel bike launch, Ventum has another update, this time to its NS1 road bike. The do-it-all road frame sees a cleaner recessed headtube with updated cable management, larger (massive) tire clearance, and a one-piece bar that ties the front end together elegantly.

Ventum NS1 — Updated Frame

The design team at Ventum focused on improving the rider’s experience on the NS1 while keeping the same geometry.

Ventum uses the Silicone EPS Double Mold Process on the GS1 and previous models. For the updated Ventum NS1 though, the design team opted for refining the carbon layup process. The new refined carbon process adds support where needed and reduces it where it’s not. The result is a lighter frame, better ride quality, stability at speed, and compliance when needed.

Like the updated Ventum GS1, the new NS1 gets direct mount and SRAM UDH (universal derailleur hanger) compatibility. The bottom bracket is a threaded T47 and will fit most spindle and chainset combinations.

The frame received a minor update as far as tube shapes are concerned as well. The NS1 has the same square-ish-shaped tubes but is now, slightly rounder. The head tube is an hourglass shape with less material around the top and down tube junctions.

Mega tire clearance

Tire clearance is now a common buzzword, and Ventum knows it. The ability to upsize tires when needed takes the useability of a frame from the road-only to all-roads. The updated NS1 comes with an impressive amount of tire clearance. The new frame can clear 35mm tires, with some room to spare. This extra clearance means mudguard installation is easy for those that train in poor weather, and gravel adventures are a tire change away.

Why not just call it a gravel bike? Well, the frame layup and geometry are best suited for the road. The frame was designed around a 30mm tire and optimized to perform with that spec.

Recessed headtube

Like the updated GS1, the new Ventum NS1 receives a head tube update. The design is a slight recess, allowing for easy spacer stacking, stem slamming, and barely noticeable cables. The top cap and cable management system is also updated, making it easier to keep the brake hoses in line.

New Ventum One-Piece Bar

Launching with the updated NS1 is an all-new Ventum one-piece bar/stem combo that feeds nicely into the recessed headtube. The bar has a cable management system that pairs well with the Ventum cabling design and incorporates an out-front bike mount.

Agreed. Clean with versatility that doesn’t otherwise compromise the bike’s road worthiness.

I looked at the post for this nice looking machine bike because Ivy Audrain rides for Ventum.
