According to CNN Justice, police in Taiwan arrested a man for stealing a bicycle–then, upon learning how poor he was, they released him with no charges and gave him a bike out of charity. Seems the man was stealing the bicycle for his daughter to ease her commute from school to the local hospital.
Which brings to mind the age-old question: when is stealing OK? What would your answer be? Reading about this other guy, it seems that a lot of people “looked the other way” about his dealings with stolen bicycles when it was for their benefit.
