Well, it looks like the minds over at Shhh Bikes didn’t take the winter off to go skiing and snowboarding. They have managed to make the single speed rear end look better while adding simplicity and stability. A unique new design that creates a different version of a sliding rear dropout which allows simple and clean chain tension adjustment. CNCd aluminum on a steel single looks cool no matter what. Aesthetics and function, isn’t that what single speeds harbor for most of us?
The rider can now more easily fix a rear flat without taking the brake off the posts and losing that perfect brake adjustment. Who among us hasn’t dreaded the rear wheel removal on a single either racing or just rolling along the trails. Seeing new designs further emphasizes and legitimizes the single speed into a model companies need to produce in order to remain current.
