BOS MTB is the biggest name in suspension you’ve probably never heard of here in the States. The company has a storied history in both mountain bike, motorcycle, and rally car racing, and their Idylle DH Fork is about to get a major refresh.
Today the sent over a little teaser video about some of the new updates, but we won’t know the true story for at least another week. Head past the break for the rundown of what we know and video…
The biggest visual changes to the new platform are the increase in stanchion size. The new uppers have increased by 1mm in diameter to 37mm for improved stiffness.
The lowers have also been modified for improved tire clearance in all conditions. Like the previous iteration, this new model will be available for both 26″ and 27.5″ bikes. The seals have also been redesigned to help reduce friction and provide more suppleness, and overall travel has been bumped upto 208mmm.
Inside, a new Frequency Control Valve system has been implemented which promises to offer an impressive performance boost, but BOS wouldn’t give us any further explanation regarding the new technology until they officially launch the new fork. The other big change is the inclusion of a hydraulic bump stop, which will help make the fork feel more progressive towards the end of the stroke, and reduce harsh bottom outs.
Stay tuned for more information!
